Abstract

Jackfruit (Artocarpus Heterophyllus) is an easy-to-grow, less picky fruit tree. Therefore, the area planted to jackfruit in Vietnam is expanding. Currently, because the cultivation process has not met the technical requirements, the diseases affected area of jackfruit trees is common such as jackfruit - bronzing, decline of jackfruit and soft rot of jackfruit, etc. Jackfruit fruit rot has been caused by Dickeya dandatii, the disease appears strongly in the rainy season in Hau Giang province and some jackfruit growing areas in the Mekong Delta. In this study, Streptomycin and Tetracycline showed the ability to inhibit the growth of Dickeya dandatii bacteria at concentrations of 50 mg/mL and 10 mg/mL, respectively. Test results of some pesticides in laboratory conditions showed that Oxycin 100WP, Poner 40TB or Kasumin 2SL, respectively, gave a sterile ring on agar plate of 15.3 ± 0.03 mm, 16.3 ± 0.03 mm, 14.7 mm ± 0.03, respectively. From the research results on drugs capable of inhibiting the growth of pathogens, we planned to come up with an integrated solution for the prevention and treatment of jackfruit fruit rot and apply the solution on three models in Hau Giang province.
