PALLIATIVE CARE NEEDS OF CANCER PATIENTS AT ONCOLOGY CENTER – THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL

Our study was conducted with the aim of describing the palliative care needs of cancer patients at Thai Nguyen Oncology Center in 2021. Applying cross-sectional descriptive study design on 190 patients are being treated at Thai Nguyen Oncology Center from January 2021 to August 2021. The results of the study show that the highest percentage of patients with support needs is the subsection of the need for medical information support (86.8%), followed by the need for financial support (74.2%); physical support (72.1%); psychological/spiritual support (34.2%); communication support (26.3%); support daily activities (20%) and finally need to support personal autonomy (19.5%). From there, the research team came to the conclusion: The need for palliative care of cancer patients focuses more on the need for medical information support and the need for financial support.
