SURVEY ON CHANGES OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN BREAST CANCER PATIENTS TREATED AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the change in quality of life in breast cancer patients treated at Thai Nguyen Oncology Center in 2022-2023. The study was conducted on 42 patients by cross-sectional description method. Survey tool was according to EORTC QLQ C30 and BR23. At the time of stopping the study according to EORTC QLQ C30, Global health status, Physical, Role, Emotional, Cognitive, Social functioning was 53.8; 80.0; 86.9; 72.4; 83.3 and 58.7 point respectively. Financial difficulties were 34.1 point. According to BR23, the point of Body image, Future perspective, Systemic therapy side effects, and Upset by hair loss were 72.2, 34.9, 32.8 and 42.1, respectively. There is a downward trend in quality of life in studying patients. Statistically significant in quality of life at the time before surgery compared to after 50% of chemotherapy were Global health status, Physical, Role functioning, Financial difficulties, Body image, Future perspective, Systemic therapy side effects, and Upset by hair loss. Oncologists need to pay more attention to in clinical practice.
