POLICY AND RESULTS OF HI-TECH APPLICATION AGRICULTURE DEVELOPMENT IN AN GIANG PROVINCE FROM 2012 TO 2020

Abstract

An Giang is one of the top localities in agricultural innovation and development in the Mekong Delta and the country. From 2012 to 2020, An Giang province had many guidelines and policies to promote the development of high-tech agriculture, contributing to agricultural restructuring associated with new rural construction. By using historical, logical, analytical, and synthetic research methods, the article aims to study the guidelines and policies of An Giang province in leadership, organization, implementation, and results of agricultural development with high technology applications in recent years. Research results show that agriculture maintained its growth rate and restructure towards commodity production and application of high technology; large commodity production areas were formed; many agricultural production models applying high technology in various fields were developed; science and technology, and human resources were invested; administrative procedures were reformed vitally to develop hi-tech agriculture. Thereby, the article contributes to provide practical arguments for the planning of local guidelines and policies in the development of hi-tech agriculture in the next period.
