BASIC FACTORS AFFECTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ETHNIC GROUPS IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Thai Nguyen is a province with a particularly important position, being the economic, political and cultural center of the Northern midlands and mountains, so it attracts many ethnic minorities to live and work in the area. Currently, Thai Nguyen province has 51 ethnic groups out of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam, of which 10 largest ethnic groups are Kinh, Tay, Nung, San Diu, San Chay, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai and Hoa. This article focuses on analyzing the development of ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province through the results of the population and housing census of Vietnam from 2009 to 2019. The main research methods used include: documentary method, analysis, synthesis and logical method. Research results show that there are 3 basic factors affecting the development of ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province today, including the process of industrialization and modernization; education and training institutions; the province's ethnic policy. Thereby, we have proposed some recommendations to contribute to the development of ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province.
