INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES IN ASSESSING THE SUITABILITY OF TEACHING PROFESSION AND LESSONS FOR VIETNAM

Abstract

The paper presents the experiences of some countries in the world on assessing the suitability of teaching profession. The paper uses the secondary literature research method and the expert method. The general issues in the paper are analyzed through the process of examining the different tools of assessing the suitability of teaching profession in some countries such as Germany, Sweden, Israel and Tanzania. As a result, the paper gives some lessons for Vietnam in training, recruiting and fostering teachers. Research results also show that there are many forms used in assessing the suitability of teaching profession and can be assessed at a number of different stages from training, recruiting and fostering new teachers. In particular, through the results of the assessment of job suitability, novice teachers are more proactive in the process of professional development to meet the requirements of the fundamental and comprehensive education renovation.
