SUSTAINABLE FOREST DEVELOPMENT IN YEN BAI PROVINCE

Abstract

The dominant terrain of Yen Bai, a mountainous province of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous areas, is medium hills and high mountains, therefore forests play a significant role for the ecological environment and the livelihood of ethnic minorities in this province as well. On the basis of studying theoretical issues, combined with the method of collecting and synthesizing information, this study aims to understand the status and causes affecting the forest area in order to assess the current status of the forest area of Yen Bai province. The research results show that the protection and sustainable development of forest resources of Yen Bai need to be paid attention in order to realize the goal of sustainable forestry development, people get rich from the forests. On that basis, the study proposes a number of solutions to manage and develop the forest area in accordance with the actual conditions in the locality in order to maintain and develop the forests in a sustainable way.
