Abstract

Stemming from the need for regular assessment of students’ learning outcomes in the direction of capacity development, this study was conducted to survey and evaluate the status of regularly assessing students’ learning outcomes in the direction of capacity development in junior high schools in Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Ninh Thuan province. The study surveyed in 435 people, including 14 leaders and 421 teachers. Research results show that the regular assessment of students’ learning outcomes in the direction of capacity development in junior high schools in this city is basically done well. In addition, some contents in the regular assessment of students’ learning outcomes in the direction of capacity development have not been fully implemented or have not been implemented effectively, that is: assessment through students’ learning records; combination of teacher assessment and student self-assessment and peer assessment. The results of this study are the basis for proposing appropriate measures to improve the effectiveness of regular assessment of students’ learning outcomes in the direction of capacity development in these local junior high schools next time.
