DESIGNING AND USING LEARNING GAMES IN TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION TO GRADE 10 STUDENTS

Currently, the 2018 General Education Program clearly states the purpose to develop the quality and capacity of students. In addition, the 2018 Program also requires the renovation of teaching methods for the purpose of developing learners' capacity. One of the active teaching methods that is very important and should be used regularly in the teaching process is learning games. The research was conducted to analyze the meaning of learning games in the teaching process in general, teaching Literature in particular, and propose some ways to design and use learning games in reading and understanding text in grade 10 of the 2018 Literature Program. What are learning games? How is the process of designing and organizing teaching with learning games implemented? In the research paper, we carry out detailed research to solve the above two problems. Research methods used in the research such as systematization and generalization to study the theoretical basis of the research and pedagogical experimental methods. Research results show that during reading comprehension hours, some learning games are highly appreciated by students for their interest, positivity and ensuring that students grasp the knowledge of the lesson. In particular, through the results of assessing the level of interest and knowledge acquisition of students through learning games, teachers are more active in the process of designing and using learning games to develop professional skills to meet the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive education innovation today.
