A MODERN APPROACH TO HIGHER EDUCATION CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The paper presents curriculum concepts, curriculum development and approaches in curriculum development. The author of the paper uses the secondary document research method and the expert method in data collection and analysis. The advantages and limitations of each approach are analyzed and clarified, thereby proposing a modern approach in the development of higher education curricula. The research results show that the competency-based approach is appropriate in developing curricula to meet the requirements of human resource training of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The paper also presents some specific characteristics of the modern approach to curriculum development, thereby giving some orientations for higher education institutions in developing, reviewing, revising and updating training programs.
