SOME MEASURES TO EDUCATE SELF-SERVE SKILLS FOR H’MONG ETHNIC MINORITY CHILDREN FROM 4 TO 6 YEARS OLD IN PRESCHOOLS IN DIEN BIEN PROVINCE

Abstract

Self-service skills education is an important content in life skills education for preschool children in general and  H'Mong ethnic minority children in particular. With the aim of identifying advantages and limitations to propose content and methods of life skills education that are suitable for children from 4 to 6 years old of the H'Mong ethnic group in preschools in Dien Bien province. From researching the theoretical basis of self-service skills education for preschool children, the authors conducted a survey of the current situation using questionnaires; observed educational activities and studied records, educational plans and educational results in some preschools in Dien Bien province for H'Mong ethnic minority children from 4 to 6 years old. Survey results show that the implementation of self-service skills education content for H'Mong ethnic children from 4 to 6 years old is not comprehensive; educational methods are not diverse; there is no combination and integration of issues together in the way of educating children. Therefore, the authors have proposed a number of measures to improve the effectiveness of self-service skills education for children from 4 to 6 years old of the H'Mong ethnic group in preschools in Dien Bien province. Furthermore, it contributes to improving the quality of life skills education and the quality of children's education in preschools in Dien Bien province today.
