RISK MAP OF IMPACTS FROM COMMON CLIMATE CHANGE PHENOMENON IN BA RIA - VUNG TAU PROVINCE

Abstract
The research article identified and developed risk maps of the top 5 common climate change phenomenon corresponding to the geographical map of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province at the commune/ward level. First, the systematic review and Delphi methods were used to identify the top 5 common climate change phenomenon. Then, the ArcGIS geographic information system software was used to build risk maps according to the local geographic map. The results showed that Ba Ria - Vung Tau province's top 5 common climate change phenomena were soil salinity, heatwaves, flooding, landslides, and typhoons. Ward/commune areas on islands and coastal districts were at high risk of saltwater intrusion, flooding, landslides and typhoons. Meanwhile, the risk of heatwaves occurred mainly in wards and communes in inland districts. Locality must enhance its role and strengthen the coordination of departments and unions to develop action plans to respond to climate change. At the same time, solutions are implemented synchronously to help local people raise awareness about climate change so they can proactively adapt to these impacts.
