Abstract

The collective economy is an economic component with an important position and role in the national economy. Collective economic development, with cooperatives at its core, is a consistent policy of the Party and the State. Over the years, An Giang province has had many guidelines and policies to promote the collective economy and cooperatives in agriculture, contributing to agricultural restructuring associated with new rural construction. Through the use of historical, logical, analytical, and synthesized research methods, the article focuses on assessing the current situation of collective economic development and cooperation in agriculture of An Giang province over the past time. Research results show that the collective economy and agricultural cooperatives have thrived in quantity and quality, brought practical benefits to cooperative members and farmers; and formed production linkage models along the value chain; application of science and technology in agricultural production has been enhanced. Thereby, the article draws some solutions to contribute to promoting collective economic development and cooperation in agriculture in the locality in the coming time.
