Abstract

“In the name of Marx to oppose Marx” is an action that Derrida - a modern Western Marxist - severely criticized. The collapse of the Soviet socialist model (in 1991) was the consequence and catalyst for actions in the name of Marx to oppose Marx's legacy, which was the neutralization of potential power, suffocation of Marx's commands. Through that, Derrida demanded a return to Marx's legacy as "criticism", "liberation" and "new salvation" in a picture of a "decaying world". The article summarizes the content and meaning of the criticism of the action "in the name of Marx to oppose Marx" presented by Derrida in the work The Ghosts of Marx (in 1993).
