Abstract

This article presents and analyzes two major trends in modern Western philosophy: rationalism and irrationalism. Rationalism views reason as the ultimate tool for discovering truth, while irrationalism emphasizes feelings, intuition, and elements beyond reason. From this, the article explains the opposition and complementarity between these two trends, pointing out the historical role and philosophical significance of each trend within the socio-cultural context of modern Western society.
