RESEARCH ON ESTIMATION OF Su FROM SPT RESULTS FOR CALCULATING THE PILE BEARING CAPACITY

Abstract

This paper presents a study on assessment, estimation of the undrained shear strength (S_u) of clayey soils in Soc Trang province from Standard Penetration Test (SPT) results, and application for calculating the pile ultimate axial compression bearing capacity according to current standards TCVN 10304-2014 and TCVN 11823-2017, in cooperation with static pile loading test results. The calculating and comparative process is applied to some constructions such as small bridges on rural roads network, schools, offices… in Soc Trang province.
