Abstract

This study examines the impact of green accounting on energy efficiency and environmental performance in pharmaceutical and chemical enterprises in Vietnam. Survey data were collected from 326 respondents, including managers and accountants working in listed or large-scale domestic pharmaceutical and chemical companies, and analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. The findings indicate that green accounting has a positive influence on both energy efficiency and environmental performance, with energy efficiency playing a partial mediating role. Among the dimensions, environmental practices of green accounting exert the strongest effect. The study confirms that adopting green accounting not only improves energy and environmental performance but also enhances corporate reputation and competitive advantage.
