SUSTAINABLE ACCOUNTING: CONCEPT, BENEFITS, GUIDELINES

Abstract

Sustainability accounting has been researched and practiced in many countries around the world, but It is still a new field for our country. Currently, sustainability accounting research and practice in businesses plays an important role in providing information about economic, social and environmental impacts, contributing to sustainable development reporting, and meeting the requirements of stakeholders during business operations. The article raises the concepts of sustainable development and sustainability accounting, and the benefits of practicing sustainability accounting in businesses. Besides, the article presents some international standards as well as Vietnamese guidelines on sustainability accounting and sustainable development reporting.
