Abstract

During the 2020 – 2025 period, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) achieved many notable accomplishments in human resource management, particularly across five key areas: Recruitment activities have been increasingly professionalized, with a strong focus on attracting high-caliber scientists, contributing to a proportion of faculty members holding doctoral degrees and academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor that exceeds national standards. Training and professional development programs have been expanded in diverse formats, including blended and online approaches, closely linked to digital transformation and international integration. Performance evaluation, emulation, and reward systems have become more transparent, based on competency-based criteria and work performance outcomes. Salary, bonus, and welfare policies have been gradually improved, fostering a friendly, democratic, and creative working environment. Nevertheless, certain limitations remain, including insufficient flexibility in recruitment and disparities in training opportunities and income levels, which call for a comprehensive set of solutions to enhance faculty quality and promote a sustainable culture of innovation.
