New Points on Vietnamese Culture and People in the Draft Documents of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam

Abstract

The Draft Documents for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam continue to affirm that culture and people are pillars of national development, while introducing several new viewpoints - from placing culture on an equal footing with the economy and politics to emphasizing digital transformation, cultural industries, and “cultural resilience.” The article analyzes eight major new points in the Draft and proposes several recommendations to clarify the strategic vision and feasibility of the Party’s orientations regarding culture and human development.
