Abstract

Regional marine management models is an approach that allows the application of management measures to a specific region in order to achieve a desired policy outcome. In Vietnam, several regional marine management models have been implemented or are in the process of being applied, such as integrated coastal resource management, Ridge to reef, and marine protected area management. However, the application of these models still faces many limitations and challenges, and they have not achieved the intended effectiveness. Therefore, this paper will focus on studying and inheriting the experiences of some countries around the world in regional marine management, examining the advantages and limitations of the marine management models currently being implemented in Vietnam, and proposing directions and solutions to enhance the applicability of suitable regional marine management models. The results of the study in this paper are feasible and provide a foundation for relevant authorities to consider and select appropriate regional marine management approaches based on specific conditions in Vietnam.
