Abstract
In recent years, circular economy (CE) has become an inevitable trend in Vietnam and around the world. For industrial parks (IPs), the eco-industrial park (EIP) model, based on industrial ecology, focuses on circular production instead of linear production. This model optimizes resources, costs, improves environmental and economic efficiency, while enhancing competitiveness and risk resilience for businesses. This study aims to assess the current status of the industrial symbiosis (IS) model in the steel industry and propose solutions to promote CE at Nam Cầu Kiền Industrial Park (Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong). Through methods such as secondary data collection, field surveys, and emissions inventory using emission factors, the study identifies the current implementation of IS among steel companies at Nam Cau Kien. Additionally, the study proposes solutions to promote the application of CE in the steel industry in Vietnam in general, and at Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park in particular.
