Awareness, attitude and behavior of urban residents in the classification of domestic solid waste at source - Case study in trung liet ward, Dong Da district, Ha Noi city

Abstract

To find out the awareness, attitude and behavior of the people in the classification of domestic solid waste in Trung Liet Ward - Dong Da District - Hanoi City, the research has applied the poll method and in-depth interview method. The results show that people's awareness is quite good about the policy of segregation of domestic solid waste and the majority think that classification is necessary. Although the percentage of people who know how to classify is quite high, for many reasons, people do not classify before discarding, the rate is low. Thereby, the author proposes some practical solutions to solve the barriers in the classification of domestic waste in the locality.
