EXPERIENCE IN IMPLEMENTING PUBLIC SPACE MODELS IN SOME SOUTHEAST ASIA COUNTRIES AND LESSONS FOR VIETNAM

Abstract: Public space is one of the most notable features in urban areas, especially large cities. In the simplest terms, public space is a common space for everyone. In the physical aspect, public space includes streets, sidewalks, parks, gardens or squares, etc. Public spaces are places where many people's communication, cultural, and sports activities... take place and play an important role, affecting the health and spirit of people; community engagement; economic development... Researching the experience of implementing the public space model in some Southeast Asian countries can draw many valuable lessons for Vietnam in urban planning towards sustainable urbanization.
