OVERVIEW OF WAVE MODELS USED IN STUDYING SHIP MOTIONS ON WAVES

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of ocean waves, the process of sea waves formation, its characteristics and effects on the motions of ship underwave. In general, sea wave models includes: harmonic wave model, irregular wave models (wave spectrum) and random wave models which has been used in the study of ship motions on waves.
