NUMERICAL PREDICTION PROPELLER PERFORMANCE BY CFD METHOD

Abstract
This paper presents the results of the numerical prediction of propeller characteristics (thrust coefficient KT, toque coefficient KQ, and propeller efficiency η0) in open water conditions by using CFD method. The moving reference frame method is used to model propeller rotation. The effect of mesh density on numerical results is analyzed. The simulation results are compared with the experimental results to confirm the reliability of the calculation results. In addition, the article also provided images of the pressure distribution on the propeller blade's surface, the flow around the propeller at the different advanced coefficients of the propeller, which will be the sources for solving different problems in propeller design.
