CACULATING ARC WELDING POWER BY MODIFIED NEWTON - RAPHSON METHOD

Abstract

This paper calculates ARC welding power with a selected width penetration value by the Modifed Newton - Raphson (MNR) method. MNR is based on the Newton - Raphson method with a modification in its loop to increase stability in the computation process. One numerical example is performed to demonstrate the proposed method. The obtained results show that the proposed method is an accurate and stable method in caculating the Arc welding power.
