MARITIME RISK ANALYSIS: OVERVIEW AND RESEARCH TRENDS

Abstract

Unexpected consequences of maritime risks such as accidents, piracy, unusually severe weather, collisions with ships, etc. are damage to people, the environment, maritime properties in general, the safety and security of waterways and ports. There has been a lot of research on improving maritime safety, but the articles or assessments on maritime risks are very limited. Especially in Vietnam. The article provides an overview of these research activities. Research synthesis methods are mainly classified into three groups: statistics, theory, simulations and optimization models.
