THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC SECTOR RESTRUCTURING ON ECONOMIC GROWTH OF THE NORTHERN COASTAL REGION USING THE STATISTICAL INDEX METHOD

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of economic sector restructuring on economic growth of the Northern coastal region (Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh). The data of 5 Northern coastal provinces’ GDP, GDP structure by economic sector group, labor, labor structure by economic sector, total investment captial, investment capital structure by economic sector was collected from the statistical yearbooks from 2010 to 2020. The statistical index method was used to analyze these effect levels. The results showed that economic sectors restructuring tended to decrease in agriculture proportion, increase in industry and service proportion. Labor restructuring had positive impact on labor productivity growth, GDP of the region, however, the impact level tended to decrease gradually.
