Abstract

This article focuses on highlighting Vietnamese linguistic and cultural features manifested in Vietnamese modern jokes, which is identified through (1) deepening the laughter cognition of Vietnamese people in communications; (2) demonstrating the periphrastic, implicit thinking and speech of Vietnamese people to express sarcasm, forcing others to presume and think of the implications; (3) stating the superficial-like expression with deeply satirical but human implications
