This article uses qualitative survey results of the ministerial-level project “The reality of Vietnamese women living and getting married with foreign workers in Vietnam” conducted by the Vietnam Women’s Union in 2019 in order to study about the gender roles in the family of Vietnamese women living and getting married with foreign workers in Ha Tinh province. Based on the analysis of gender roles in these families, the article mentions only two aspects which are related to productive role and reproductive role. The research results show that, although the wife’s contribution to the family’s general income is negligible compared to the current expenditure of Vietnamese women’s families married to Chinese/Taiwanese men, in such families clearly show the equality between husband and wife in participating in household chores. It is clearly shown that in these families the equality in involving in household chores remains between the husband and the wife. The husband often shares household chores with his wife, especially doing housework, taking care of and educating their children.
