SOCIAL WORK ACTIVITIES FOR WOMEN SUFFERING FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FROM THE CASE OF BAC AI DISTRICT, NINH THUAN PROVINCE

Abstract

The paper reflects the results of research on the topic “Social work for women suffering from domestic violence in Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province”. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods, the research results show that communication activities, raising women’s awareness about domestic violence and it’s prevention, supporting women in responding to domestic violence, and helping victims to recover and reintegrate into the community have been directed, organized and implemented throughout Bac Ai district by Party Committee officials, local authorities, and officials of local branches and organizations. However, the implementation of some activities is not only irregular, and procedurally incorrect but also lacks professionalism. Therefore, the effectiveness is still limited. To improve the effectiveness of social work in preventing domestic violence, localities need to synchronously implement many solutions. Among these, innovating media content and forms; building a team of professional social workers, and consolidating and replicating domestic violence prevention models are basic and important solutions that need attention and implementation
