Abstract

This paper analyzes the stigmatization and discrimination faced by the LGBT community through the lens of Stigma Theory in its three levels: individual, interpersonal, and sociocultural. Stigma and discrimination are considered major barriers for the LGBT community (gay, bisexual, and transgender people). The paper identifies existing discriminations against the LGBT community in the fields of education, health, and work. Then, it gives some recommendations to minimize stigma and discrimination against this group. This paper is a part of the research project “Access to Employment Services for LGBT People in Hanoi City” conducted in 2025
