Abstract

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, the Internet and social network are increasingly growing due to their popularity and influences around the world. The number of people using the Internet and social network in the world in general and in Vietnam, in particular, is increasing strongly over time. This article is designed to contribute to providing an overview of the popularity of the Internet and social network and their impacts on youth in both positive and negative aspects. Te study results showed, the Internet and social network have been and will be a part of social life for most users, especially youth. In addition to the ositive effects on youth (such as support for learning and employment opportunities, etc.) the Internet and social network can also cause negative effects (such as Internet/online games addiction, cyberbullying, etc.) if they do not know how to exploit and use them properly.
