Novel therapies in myelodysplastic syndrome

Abstract

Treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) has remained challenges for physician. In Vietnam, the treatment strategies for the majority of patients with MDS are supportive care with blood transfusion, iron chelation and growth factors. Lenalidomide, hypomethylation agents has been received FDA approval for treating MDS. But these drugs are not cure, aim at improving cytopenia, quality of life and delaying disease progression. Several clinical trials have done to determine effective of new drugs for MDS. This reviews provided several informations of novel therapies for MDS.
