Sustainable development of commercial banking system of Vietnam – experiences from some countries in the world

Abstract

   Given the increasing demands of the macroeconomic stability, sustainable growth as well as the process offinancial liberalization and international integration, weaknesses of the commercial banking system in Vietnam is exposed, suchas bad debt management, high financial leverage, profit declining ... Therefore, the sustainable development of the commercialbanking system in Vietnam to ensure the competitiveness and healthy banking system is very necessary. This paper presents theexperiences of several countries in the world, such as Sweden, some Asian countries and other countries, in order to review,evaluate and draw lessons for sustainable development of the commercial banking system in Vietnam nowadays.
