Abstract

This paper summarizes the current state of Korean translation and interpretation education in South Korea, presents theoretical bases being used in interpreter/translator training in Vietnam, results from surveys of educational institutions which offer interpreter/translator training programs and their program quality. Also, the paper analyzes the strengths and shortcomings of those Korean translation and interpretation programs in Vietnam before suggesting possible solutions on the basis of Korean best practices for improving interpreter/translator training in Vietnam.
