The actual state of nurturing activities for elite high school students in Ho Chi Minh city

Abstract

Abstract: This research serves the purpose of evaluating the actual state of the nurturing activities for elite students among high schools in District 10, HCMC. Participants for this research including 176 leaders and teachers, 280 students from 5 high schools: Nguyen Du High school, Nguyen Khuyen High school, Dien Hong High school, Suong Nguyet Anh High school and Nguyen An Ninh High school. Result shows that participants are fully aware of the meaning and importance of those nurturing activities for the elite students, which were carefully carried out by each school involved. Still, there are some certain problems remaining, such as disunite curriculums, lacking of diversity in operating method or inefficiency in student selection. The article also proposes some suggestions regarding ways of increasing the efficiency in conducting those nurturing activities.
