Designing and organizing STEM education activities for 4th-graders students based on the T-SM-E model

Abstract

STEM education is an advanced educational model that has been widely adopted in many countries around the world. STEM education helps students to apply knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to solve practical problems, positively impacts on their competency development. In our country, STEM education is also considered a educational orientation and has been implemented in recent years. Although STEM education has become popular worldwide, it is still relatively a new form of education in Vietnam. Many teachers have not yet been trained or exposed to STEM education. As a result, they may face difficulties and feel uncertain when implementing STEM education. Therefore, Teachers may find difficult and confusing to implement STEM education. In this article, we present a model of designing and organizing STEM educational activities for 4th-graders. Thereby we introduce to primary school teachers a new approach to design STEM educational activities teaching plans.
