MODELLING NETWORK DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS TO EVALUATE AND ANALYSIS THE EFFICIENCY OF VIETNAM BANKING INDUSTRY

Abstract

Measuring the performance of Vietnam banking industry has been continuously considered as a crucial topic that attracted many concerns of researchers and policy-managers. This research develops a Two-stages Network DEA to evaluate the efficiency of 29 commercial banks in Vietnam from 2016 – 2018. The results reveal the “discriminating power” of the proposed model in comparison with traditional DEA models. Furthermore, the author also proposes some oriented suggestions to help policy-managers in order to enhance the efficiency of Vietnam banking industry.
