Abstract

The success of the August Revolution in 1945 saw the Vietnamese people break the chains of colonialism and imperialism, overthrow the monarchy, and establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The August Revolution unfolded and triumphed swiftly across the entire country within just two weeks. This victory was made possible by the prior process of building armed forces and establishing extensive revolutionary bases that served as a foundation for political forces and the struggle movement. Thanks to a long period of preparation that built up revolutionary momentum and strength, when the revolutionary opportunity arose, the Indochinese Communist Party and President Hồ Chí Minh promptly launched a nationwide General Uprising, seizing power into the hands of the people.
