The Jacobin Revolutionary Democratic Dictatorship - A Peak of the French Revolution
Abstract
Although the Jacobin could only be in power for a relatively short period (2 June 1793 to 27 July 1794), it still contributed significantly to the French Revolution (1789-1799) through a series of policies issued during its existence: redistributing land to farmers, stabilizing the economic life of urban residents, promulgating constitution in 1973, and establishing a revolutionary democratic dictatorship from the central to the local level.
Despite shortcomings, these policies did solve the urgen issues which the previous capitalist revolution had failed to do and brought the French Revolution to the new level of development which made it the most remarkable capitalist revolution in the mordern time.
