SOLUTIONS TO ATTRACT FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT, PROCESSING THE ECONOMIC STRUCTURE TRANSFER OF HO CHI MINH CITY, VISION TOWARD 2030

Abstract

This research is conducted with the hope that the results of the research will serve as a scientific basis for managers and policymakers to come up with solutions to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to promote the economic restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City, with a vision to 2030. The study has given important solutions and recommendations for Ho Chi Minh City, such as: Developing a planning for the development of sectors, regions, and economic sectors of the city must be associated with each industry, taking into account each region and each area, prioritizing the development of comparative advantages, and at the same time increasing the attraction of projects with appropriate technologies, investing in industries with economic transformation in order to reduce the current imbalance of the city. Ho Chi Minh City; Create more incentives and encouraging mechanisms to attract FDI in key economic sectors, regions and economic sectors with comparative advantages and high competitiveness but lack of capital; increase the attraction of FDI from the United States, Western Europe, Japan and South Korea into Ho Chi Minh City to create a breakthrough in technology for economic restructuring; And finally, the work of investment mobilization and promotion needs to be renewed in terms of content and implementation method, following a proactive and effective program.
