Abstract

The goal of science explains the natural world, and the goal of engineering solve problems to meet human needs and wants. Kindergarten is an ideal period to offer age-appropriate technical challenges to develop cognitive, social, motor, and language skills. Science discovery activities create many opportunities for thinking development, including engineering thinking, for children in the process a child explores everything around them. By the method of document research and experiment, the article presents the 5 - 6 year-old preschoolers’ engineering thinking and the research results of organizing STEM-oriented of scientific discovery activities aimed to develop engineering thinking for preschoolers.
