AI COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK AND TEACHER TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS

Abstract
With the goal of finding solutions to enhance teachers' competencies in the context of the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education, this article is based on UNESCO's AI Competency Framework for Teachers to identify practical needs. From there, it recommends training solutions to develop teachers' AI competencies. A survey on practical needs for AI competency development was conducted with the participation of 285 individuals (94 teachers and 191 students). The results show that students and teachers have a high demand for AI competency development, while they have not yet had the opportunity to attend training courses. The application of AI in teaching is essential, but users’ knowledge and skills remain quite limited. Training and fostering AI competency development for teachers is an emerging and potential sector, which needs timely responses from educational management bodies and teacher training institutions. Training solutions for teachers, such as raising awareness about AI, developing programs, integrating AI competency development into activities, and placing them within the context of digital transformation, need to be quickly implemented to improve teaching effectiveness and promote international integration.
