This study mainly uses theoretical research and mathematical statistics methods to identify the problems posed by professional training for lecturers and the status of this work at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education according to the competency approach. From this, the paper proposes measures to enhance professional teaching, scientific research, social and community action capabilities in order to the defined goals.
