Today, students’ competency-based curriculum development at university has been very essential. The paper focused on analysing the relationship between designing the curriculum for physical education and Hanoi VUN students’ competencies formed. A cross sectional study using a semi-structured self administered depth-interview questionnaire was carried out over weeks, using a small sample of students of VUN, Hanoi. The datas of the study were processed basing on the research result from theories related. This is the base for measures suggested and the researches on competency in the future.
