Data series and charts are powerful tools that can be used to better understand the world around us. The 2018 General Education Program on Mathematics has introduced data and charts into teaching from Second grade. First, there are just simple lessons on data collection, then in Fourth grade there are lessons on Statistical Data and Bar Charts.
This article points out a few differences in introducing the content of statistical data and charts in Math textbooks according to the 2018 General Education Curriculum and elementary Math textbooks according to the elementary curriculum 2006; At the same time, we propose some points to keep in mind when teaching statistical data and charts to students majoring in Elementary Education at An Giang University.
