On November 30, 2022, an event affecting all fields including the field of edu-cation is the birth of ChatGPT. ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI company. This is a generative Chatbot that helps create automatic texts without requiring direct human participation. This event created two streams of public opinion. Some people say it is perfect. Others are extremely critical when attacking ChatGPT's weaknesses and say that it is unreliable. AI experts also disagree about the benefits and accuracy of ChatGPT's answers. In this article, we mention the nature, history of formation and de-velopment of ChatGPT, advantages and limitations of ChatGPT as well as applications from our practical experience when using ChatGPT in the educational field. The con-clusion we draw from the article is that we agree with the opinion that we should bring chatGPT to life but know how to use it selectively to improve work efficiency in general and Math teaching in particular.
